My senior year we had a GKS, graphical kernal system, class. The software had been ported from FORTRAN ( I forget the version) to C. We had desktop ocmputers with Turbo C and Quick C on them. The support number we had, and 800 one, called an office in Texas. The undrage advisor said they claimed the software was written there... I pointed out that Texans do not spell color as colour. We could only do 2D on the screens. Zenith 386 with math coprocessor and extension to ms-dos so we could use 40 meg and 80 meg hard drives, but 3D could be simulated by using shading.
