When the Cyber was the main computing engine at the U .of Sydney, the
grad students knew how to get through NOS security and could diddle
each other's files. However there was a gentlemens' agreement that one
shouldn't do anything irreversible. Two that I remeber were:

Grad student A left his terminal unguarded and another grad student
came along, put the terminal into local mode and typed

/PURGE,* (if I remeber NOS correctly)
	/

then put the terminal back online and and waited for the hapless A to
get a shock.

Cybers had 60 bit words with the infamous 6 bit character set with no
EOL character. (Old hands will understand why Cyber Pascal users always
made sure a colon was never the last character on a line.) One student
logged on one morning to find that all his files had been scrambled.
Eventually he figured out that what his friends had done was rotate
every word 2 bits.
