>Ahem! I take objection to that! >The 1130 is a fine machine for learning machine architecture. >It had a very thoughtful interrupt structure and a front panel that >let you see that machine's state all over. I liked the 1130 too, don't get me wrong. It was useful, and a lot of fun, I wish I had one in my basement. For one thing, I could still program in FORTRAN II that way! :-) When I said it ultimately belonged in the junkyard, I meant that it got sadly left behind by the technological revolution that followed. When they should have done was retrofit it with a RISC CPU! Or a 68020. Wouldn't you love to be the only programmer on Earth writing 68020 code on Hollerith cards?? -- A doubled signature is the devil's work. ** Tom Neff <tn...@bfmny0.BFM.COM> -- A doubled signature is the devil's work. ** Tom Neff <tn...@bfmny0.BFM.COM>
