Luxury...

WE didn't HAVE cards.  We had a cracked-open card reader and you had to hold
your fingers over the right parts for each row!!  We couldn't afford paper for
the line-printers, so we had to just watch the print heads to see what 
characters were supposed to be printed!!

[Actually, I'm a bit young for the punch-card era, but it sounded good... :-) ]
