Back when I was a grad student, more years ago than I like to think
about, I wrote a program related to my research.  I was not then and
still am not a touch typer, and I called it QWERT.  Later I wrote
another program, which massaged QWERT's output; I moved over a bit and
called it YUIOP.  Still later some other folks wrote a program related
somehow to QWERT, and called it TREWQ.

For a long time the TOPS-10 at Carnegie Mellon Uinversity had an editor
called FINE.  FINE Is Not EMACS.  It wasn't, either.
