You're absolutely right; the poor bastard had a perfect right to ask for
silly hyphenation stories, and silly hyphenation stories he'll get.

I have one, although it's not strictly a hyphenation story; actually,
it's a word wrap story. In the early days of the TRS-80 Model I (long
may it be remembered, for those not still RUNNING one- no, I haven't
been around QUITE that long, I started with a III) there was a word
processor called Electric Pencil, and it was good, 'cuz there
wasn't nuttin' much else. But Electric Pencil's word wrap algorithm,
while perfectly proficient if the line *contained* a space, didn't work
so well if the line was, say, eighty hyphens (just to make this a hyphen-
ation story (-: ). (Did I just type a meta- hyphen?)

When such a line was entered, the word wrap routine would seek for a space,
fail to find it, and proceed to move the line downward... forever and
ever... or rather until it ran out of RAM. (Boom.)

I reinvented this error when writing my *own* word wrap routine for
the editor of my BBS software, many years ago. (Sigh, the good old days...)
