Since we have a Soviet poster here, I thought this would be a good opportunity to bring this up again: My home computer displays the English alphabet as a 7x7 dot matrix, which I belive is typical of computers and terminals: XXX XXXXXX XXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXXX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XXXXXXX XXXXX XX XX XX XXXXXX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XXXXXX XXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXXX, etc. I have tried to come up with a similar representation of the Cyrillic alphabet, but it seems as though a great many characters cannot be made. E.g. the characters for "sh", "shch", and "ee" with a circumflex(?). However, it doesn't *seem* as though the Cyrillic alphabet is significantly more complex than ours, and Soviet computers must have *some* way of displaying them efficiently and without extensive graphic capability, etc. Any ideas on how it's done? It's been a mystery to me. -- | flame me at: len...@minilove.diag.stratus.com, (Craig Scott Lennox) | |"Oh boy, virtual memory!
