Reformat the hard disk? Send | rude mail to your mother? (Well, probably not that.) I posted this about a year ago..... The first internal revision of the Data General 32-bit AOS/VS PL/1 compiler had a bug where it would sometimes delete your source file. Options under AOS/VS are VMS-ish, ie: COMMAND/OPTION1/OPTION2=VALUE ARGUMENT1 ARGUMENT2 ARGUMENT3/OPTION4 Also, the equalivant option to UNIX's ./ for specifing a file in the current direction was '=' in front of the filename and you tended to use it more, since normal files had path expansion done on them (not just executables like in UNIX). Anyay, to create a listing file in the current directory, you would do: PL1/L==FILE.LS FILE.PL1 If you mistyped it as: PL1/L===FILE.LS FILE.PL1 it would delete your source. The networking folks were none too amused by this behavior when they accidently typed it. -- Michael Meissner email: meis...@osf.org phone: 617-621-8861 Open Software Foundation, 11 Cambridge Center, Cambridge, MA, 02142 Do apple growers tell their kids money doesn't grow on bushes?
