What does 'uts', as in /usr/src/uts/3b2/
                                ^^^

mean?

Is it an acronym for something, a mnemonic for something else,
(as in /etc, /bin) or is there some history to it?

I once thought it stood for 'Universal Timesharing System', but
someone said I'm wrong.

Oh please enlighten me, Oh Wisdom of the Net :-)

Thanks in advance,
