Rehi friends of CP/M and 8-bit technology!

It's about time for you to check your rolodexes and calendars as
another big event is casting it's shadow ahead (no - not WIN2K):

 Z-Fest 2000!

on 8th to 9th July 2000 in Gueglingen near Heilbronn.
Yes, indeed! CP/M is dead and thus easily survived till now.

Once again an overview of what's happening:

Where is it happening?

As usual, the meeting takes place at the Schafhaus (Schafhausplatz 1)
in Gueglingen close to Brackenheim in the Heilbronn/Neckar region.
The Vogelmann family will be our host like always.

When does it start?

We'll start on Saturday morning (8th of July) as of 10 AM slowly arriving
until about 2:00 PM (1400hrs), then it'll really take off.

What can you expect?

CP/M Hardware from those old glory days and late (!) devices and even
computers, like the Tilmann Reh CPU280 that some have bought or even built
themselves from the kit sold by Tilmann. There'll be the usual bandwidth
of CP/M standard software and, of course, tons of gold from the Public
Domain mines.

Historical documents (anything in printed or written form) to mark some
episodes like special issues of computer magazines.

8-bit-exceeding hardware of any kind plus most uptodate network technology
is implemented in the house due to Roderich Vogelmann's and Uwe Herzceg's
consulting company residing there. Such equipment may also graciously be
brought along. ;-)

==> Like every year, we will visit one of the local beer or wine fests
with quite cozy and very personal ambients. You'll enjoy home-made cakes
as well as rural Barbequeue.

The penny tourist may take advantage of the mass sleeping place arranged
for in one of the rooms, although resources are limited and require a
sleeping bag of your own.

We have also arranged for an on-line booking facility for hotel rooms that
will translate email to fax. Furthermore, a car pool look-up service
allows one to either offer or search a ride.

You'll find both links at http://www.zfest.de

The visitor is normally swamped by the brute force of good vibrations at
the ZFEST, a large percentage being due to the excellent and charming
hostess, Mrs. Vogelmann sen. who never fails to provide coffee and food in
time. This is the only thing that requires some financial obulus, most of
it being on a good will basis, but nevertheless costful for the Vogelmanns.

Who?

Anybody, anyone, anything (almost) :-)

How do I get there by car?

Take the route off the Autobahn A6 Nuernberg-Heilbronn
Course #1:

"Kreuz Weinsberg" (east of Heilbronn)
Autobahn A81 heading for Stuttgart
"Abfahrt Ilsfeld" is the turn-off,
==>Lauffen  ==>Brackenheim ==>Gueglingen

Course #2:

"Untereisesheim"
cross the road "Bundesstrasse 293" (you'll pass under)
head for ==>Klingenberg
==> Nordheim ==> Brackenheim ==>Gueglingen

Arrived in Gueglingen, you'll reach a traffic light in the center of the
town. A road is draping off quite steeply to the left, then at the first
possibility, turn right and right again. Brake!! You have arrived!

Telephone at the given location is +49.7135.15081 or, locally, 07135/15081
(07135/7833 Vogelmann sen.)

Please spread this message to anyone who might be interested in this event.
