Back in high school, our lab consisted of around 15 Apple //e computers. Maybe four of them had undergone motherboard swaps and become IIgs's. Well, my senior Writing class teacher decided that we should all do a paper on the computer, so we spent a couple of classes in the lab. The school only had Bank Street Writer, which I didn't really like, so I told the teacher I wanted to use AppleWorks instead. It took an incredible amount of convincing to make her believe that it was possible to get a printout from AppleWorks. Anyway, I brought a copy of Electronic Arts's Music Construction Set demo to school one day and booted it up in the lab. The teacher didn't enjoy it quite as much as everyone else. Lastly, on the IIgs you can set the startup drive. If you set it to a RAM disk but don't install one, the computer will refuse to boot up. So it was fun (read: adolescent and mischievous) to disable the school's IIgs's, confuse the teachers, and a few minutes later have the problem disappear. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Howard C.
