While I was in college, the CS faculty forbade the both the writing and
playing of games on systems in the PC lab. (actually they were apple IIs
at that time) Proctors were admonished that they could lose their work-
study positions if faculty found anyone playing games in the lab.

A friend of mine wrote a "proctor desensitization" program which would
after waiting a long interval with an innocuous code listing on the
screen, reproduce (randomly) the sound of one of several of the most
popular games. The program would then revert to the innocuous display.

By strategically running this on several machines in the furthest reaches
of the lab, both proctors an faculty were slowly driven to distraction.
One in particular would whine "NNO GGAMES!! NNO GGAMES!! (he spoke in
doubled caps) as he rushed around searching for evil gamers.
